Attempt to try and retain dimensionality in the face by being loose and painterly. The final will have to be much tighter in order to get information across.
Hope to post more layers soon, working off of original sketches.

Anatomical Drawing I Cross-Section
Final project for Anatomical Drawing I. Completed in Photoshop.
The purpose of the project was the render a diagonal cross-section through the gut, illustrating the pancreas' relationship/interaction with the other organs in the abdominal cavity.
Will probably upload a version with labels sooner or later...

Priorities...
Technically, I should be working on my blog header... if you follow this page you might have noticed a few changes in the layout, and the header is one of them. The graphic itself is half-done at best, but I felt even something half-finished would be nicer than recycling a piece that I'd already posted.
(All right, if we're going to really get into prioritization, I should stop checking books out of the library every week and study some more calculus and anatomy, right? ...right?)
In the general spirit of half-doneness around here though, I thought it might be interesting to post some process images on a piece. My workflow changes significantly depending on my references and media.
This process in particular is one I employ while predominately working from my head. I'll build up the original concept by working from multiple references, so as to make the gesture and proportions more believable.
More to come at a later date!

Spring Quarter 201
I felt it was probably time to put some more things up on the blog - these are all from spring quarter of sophomore year, except for the last one, which is some figures that I want to flesh out a bit more.
Apparently sophomore year is the year of the book cover...
